Eliud Kipchoge Makes History with Sub Two-Hour Marathon ¶
On October 12, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge made history by becoming the first human to run a marathon under two hours.
With his wife and kids in attendance, Kipchoge didn't disappoint the world that was carrying him on its shoulder. He had been doubted by many, but he dared to dream and push beyond limits.
As he crossed the finish line, Kipchoge tweeted, 'HISTORY! pic.twitter.com/qjLfofhL5s '
He joins the books of legends, alongside Roger Bannister, who broke the 4-minute mile in 1954, Neil Armstrong, who walked on the moon in 1969, and Usain Bolt, who ran 100m in 09.58 in 2009.
According to INEOS 1:59 Challenge, 'That was the best moment of my life. The time I knew I was going to make history.'
With this achievement, Kipchoge proves that no human is limited, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
