On October 12, 2019, Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge made history by completing the marathon in under two hours in Vienna, Austria.

The INEOS 1:59 Challenge aimed to inspire others to believe they can overcome their own personal barriers, and Kipchoge believes that 'No Human Is Limited' did something that no human has done.

Supporting Kipchoge in Vienna were tens of Kenyans, including William Ruto and Gideon Moi.

With a remarkable record of winning 11 out of 12 marathons, Kipchoge's achievement is a testament to his dedication and perseverance.

As Kipchoge's wife, Grace Sugut, watched her husband run, she expressed her nervous yet excited feelings, saying, 'I'm a bit nervous but excited for him.'

Their three children were also present, experiencing their first time watching their father run.

Grace added, 'Kenyans are watching and excited to see Kipchoge do what no human has ever done.'

After achieving his goal, Kipchoge thanked his pacemakers, saying, 'The 41 pacemakers are among the best athletes in the whole world … to all of them I want to say thank you, thank you for doing the job. We made history together.'

He also emphasized the significance of his achievement, stating, 'It has taken 65 years for a human to make history in sport. After Roger Bannister [running a sub four-minute mile in 1954] it took another 65 years … I'm happy to be the man to run under two hours. No human is limited, and I'm expecting more people to do it after today.'
