On Friday, the Anti-Corruption Court halted the proceedings against Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and her lawyer, Stanley Muluvi, following an order from the High Court.
The case, which has been marred by allegations of corruption, has taken a personal turn with claims that the prosecutor, Dorcas Oduor, is the ex-girlfriend of Mwilu's husband, Amos Wako.
According to Twitter user Robert Alai, the situation is 'personal' and Oduor should 'exit the prosecution of spouse of a man she loved.'
Another Twitter user, Louis Djemba Djemba, echoed Alai's sentiments, stating that Oduor's involvement in the case is a 'personal vendetta.'
Despite the allegations, the prosecution led by Oduor maintained that their case is 'solid' and not part of the 'we shall revisit' threat.
Deputy Chief Justice Mwilu has claimed that the case is a witch hunt by President Uhuru Kenyatta against judges who supported the nullification of the August elections.
Published on August 29, 2018, this article highlights the twists and turns of the case, which has left many questioning the motives behind the prosecution.
