Actress Anne Hathaway is expecting her second child, and she's keeping the baby's name under wraps. But instead of revealing the truth, she's been known to prank people by telling them fake, beautiful-sounding names.
On Live With Kelly And Ryan, Hathaway shared her tactic, saying she likes to come up with names that are 'beautiful-sounding but will make other people intensely uncomfortable.' She even revealed that she and her husband, Adam Shulman, tried this with their first child, Jonathan, and came up with the name 'Quandré.'
'With Jonathan, we came up with the name 'Quandré,' Hathaway said. 'And then you correct them, and they never get it right.'
But Hathaway's prank doesn't stop there. She also likes to mix up the due dates, making it even harder for people to guess the real name. As she told James Corden in an interview, 'It's really cruel, but I enjoy it so much.'
So, what's the key to pulling off this prank? Hathaway says it's all about the delivery. 'You don’t look away, and you don’t blink,' she explained. 'And you have to watch them just squirm.'
And it seems like Hathaway's prank has been successful. When someone asked her about her new baby's name the night before her Live With Kelly And Ryan appearance, she replied, 'We’re actually going with Africa Bronx Shulman.' The person's reaction? Shock and disbelief, according to Hathaway's reenactment on the show.
