On October 11, 2019, Sarah Wairimu Cohen was released from Langata Women's Prison on bail, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the murder of her husband, Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen.
Ms. Cohen, who was named as the prime suspect in the case, was granted bail after presenting 10 title deeds to the court, which her lawyer, Philip Murgor, stated could be used to sustain herself financially.
According to reports, Ms. Cohen's daughter, who works for a multinational company in the Netherlands, loaned her mother Sh 2 million to cover the bail, which was secured against one of her title deeds.
The court was assured that the daughter would also provide ongoing support to her mother.
