Published on October 11, 2019, the All Africa Team Golf Championship was in full swing at the par 72 Mont Choicy Le Golf course in Mauritius.

Kenya's national men's golf team, led by captain Samuel Njoroge, was struggling to make a mark, placing eighth going into the final round.

Despite a decent performance from Njoroge, who shot one over par 73 and one under 71 in the first two rounds, his teammates Simon Njogu and junior Mutahi Kibugu were not faring well.

Njogu and Kibugu shot four over par 76 each in the third round, while Kibugu carded 77, bringing the team's aggregate to 40 over par 688 gross.

The team had posted 230 and 229 in the first and second rounds, respectively, and had some work to do in the closing round to finish in the top four places.

Defending champions South Africa, however, were firing on all cylinders, topping the leaderboard with an outstanding 16 under par 632, thanks in part to Martin Vorster's seven under par 65 in the third round.

Other top performers included Morocco, who posted 13 over par 661, and hosts Mauritius, who closed the day in third place on 669 gross, just a shot better than Africa Region Four champions Uganda on 670.
