On October 11, 2019, a significant milestone was achieved in the search for Mariam Kigenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu, whose vehicle sank in the Likoni Ferry channel.
The ill-fated vehicle was retrieved together with the bodies of the two victims, bringing an end to a 13-day search operation.
The bodies were taken to Jocham morgue in Mombasa county by a police vehicle, where they were placed in white body bags.
