On October 12, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge, the world record holder and Olympic champion, will attempt to make history by becoming the first man to run a sub two-hour marathon in the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in Vienna.

Considered one of the most successful long distance athletes of all time, Kipchoge will be accompanied by his dream team of pacemakers as he takes on the challenge.

The event will be broadcast live by local channels, including NTV, and will also be available on YouTube.

According to the organisers, the INEOS 1:59 challenge will start at 9:15am Kenyan time on October 12, 2019.

As the world watches, Kipchoge will attempt to break the two-hour barrier in the 42km marathon, a feat that has never been achieved before.
