A week-long search for a missing Wote businessman has ended in tragedy, with the man's body found murdered and dumped on the roadside.
According to police, Dominic Mutuku's body was discovered 100m off Wote-Machakos Road in Makongo, with deep head cuts.
Mutuku, who operated several electronic shops and other businesses, went missing on Monday, his father Julius Zakayo reported.
Police commander Joseph Naipeiyan confirmed the incident, stating that Zakayo had been travelling from Machakos to Wote when he saw a crowd and alighted from his car to identify the body.
“Zakayo was travelling from Machakos and out of curiosity alighted the matatu and identified the body,” Naipeiyan said.
Although an investigation has been launched, no arrests have been made yet.
The body was taken to Makueni Hospital mortuary for further examination.
