Arsenal's Head of Football Raul Sanllehi Accuses Mesut Ozil of Not Working Hard Enough

Published on October 11, 2019

Arsenal's head of football Raul Sanllehi has sparked controversy after claiming that Mesut Ozil does not work hard enough in training.

Sanllehi made the comments in an interview, stating that Unai Emery's policy is to play players who work hard in training. He added that Ozil is not being given playing time because he is not putting in the effort required.

According to Sanllehi, the likes of Dani Ceballos, Reiss Nelson, and Joe Willock have been preferred in midfield ahead of Ozil because they are giving more for the club at the training ground.

Sanllehi's comments have sparked a lot of debate among Arsenal fans, with many questioning why Ozil is not being given more playing time despite being one of the club's most skilled players.

English media reports have also suggested that Emery is keen on offloading Ozil, who is on a staggering £350,000 a week wage.

As far as Emery is concerned, he has never given a solid answer to why Ozil was so isolated from the squad.
