On Friday, October 11, 2019, Rwanda President Paul Kagame welcomed Arsenal centre back David Luiz to the country as part of a partnership between the Government of Rwanda and English club Arsenal.
Luiz, who jetted to Rwanda on Friday, is set to be hosted by the president along with his family and fiancé, who will receive first-class hospitality.
Luiz's visit to Rwanda is part of the 'Visit Rwanda' initiative, which aims to promote tourism in the country. He is expected to visit several destinations, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where he will pay respects to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Luiz's visit comes just days after Chelsea legend Didier Drogba arrived in Kigali to speak at the 3rd Youth Connekt Africa Summit.
