The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to owners of 584 vehicles to verify their ownership, or risk deregistration.

According to a notice released on Wednesday, owners of the listed vehicles have until October 28, 2019, to present themselves at any NTSA motor vehicle inspection center with the required documents.

The documents required for verification include the original and copy of the Registration certificate (Logbook), importation documents, National Identification card, KRA PIN Certificate, and any other document to prove ownership.

NTSA has also ordered that no transaction be done with the vehicles until their ownership is verified.

It is reported that the owners of the listed cars had been issued with a notice on May 7 this year for verification but failed to do so.

As of October 11, 2019, the list of vehicles includes 409 civilian motor vehicles, 179 trailers, tractors, three wheelers, and heavy machinery cars.
