On October 11, 2019, a Nairobi court made a significant ruling in the high-profile murder case of Jewish golfer Tob Cohen. Sarah Wairimu, the key suspect in Cohen's murder, was granted Sh2mn cash bail, effectively ending her 43-day incarceration.

Justice Stella Mutuku allowed Wairimu's bail application with certain conditions. She was required to keep off her matrimonial home and avoid contacting witnesses in the case. Additionally, she was ordered to deposit her passport in court.

The prosecution had argued that Wairimu's release would jeopardize the murder trial, citing concerns that she could abscond court since she had no fixed abode. However, Justice Mutuku ruled that the prosecution had not persuaded the court to deny Wairimu's bail application.

Wairimu's arrest by police on August 28, 2019, marked the beginning of her involvement in the case. Her matrimonial home in Kitisuru was later declared a crime scene after Cohen's body was discovered in an underground water tank on September 13, 2019.
