Silverstone Plane Crashes at Wilson Airport Runway

On Friday morning, a Silverstone plane crashed on the runway at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, sparking a dramatic rescue operation. The Lamu-bound flight, 5Y-IZO, had taken off with 50 passengers on board.

According to initial reports, the 60-seater plane experienced challenges during take-off, resulting in the crash. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported, and all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft.

Two passengers were injured during the crash and were rushed to Nairobi Hospital for medical attention. The cause of the crash is yet to be established.

Silverstone Air released a statement following the incident, confirming that their Fokker 50, 5Y-IZO, had an incident while taking off at 9:00 AM. The passengers and crew have been safely disembarked, and the airline is working with the relevant authorities to assess the situation.
