William Ruto Heads to Vienna to Cheer Eliud Kipchoge in INEOS 1:59 Challenge

Deputy President William Ruto is set to head to Vienna, Austria to cheer Eliud Kipchoge as he attempts to make history in the INEOS 1:59 Challenge.

According to a tweet by William Ruto, he will be in Vienna to cheer Kipchoge as he attempts to become the first human to run a marathon in under two hours.

"I wish I could be there on Saturday. However, I understand, Kenya is a sports-loving nation," Ruto said in a tweet.

"I know that one of our own is going to make history by being the first human to run a marathon in under two hours," he added.

It is reported that Ruto will be leaving the country on Thursday, October 10, after meeting with other top government officials.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Kipchoge's wife, Rachel Ruto, was planning to travel to Austria to cheer him on.

Kipchoge has assured Kenyans and the world that he is ready to make history in the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, which will take place on Saturday, October 12, in Vienna, Austria.

"I have faith that I will win the INEOS 1:59 Challenge," Kipchoge said in a statement.

It is worth noting that the INEOS 1:59 Challenge will be a historic moment for Kipchoge and the world of athletics.
