On October 11, 2019, a Mombasa bound Silverstone Airplane narrowly escaped disaster after it crashed at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, just as it was about to take off.
Fortunately, there were no casualties as the plane had not taken off the ground. However, a few passengers were injured, but the injuries were not serious.
The incident comes less than two weeks after the tragic Likoni Ferry accident, where a lady and her daughter drowned in the Indian Ocean. The bodies of the victims are yet to be retrieved.
Details of the crash are still emerging, but it is clear that the incident could have had devastating consequences.
