Lawyer Edwin Wawire has been embroiled in a bitter dispute with Eldoret resident magistrate Diana Wikunza Milimu, who claims to be his wife.

However, Wawire has denied the allegations, accusing Milimu of being deeply entrenched in cultism, witchcraft, black magic, and satanism.

He claims that Milimu entertained old men who performed rituals on her while she was naked, and that she was trying to poison him slowly.

At the heart of the dispute is a property that Milimu claims is part of their matrimonial estate, which Wawire sold without her consent.

According to Wawire, Milimu was a second-year student at Moi University in 2012, and he greatly helped her financially like any other well-wisher.

He claims that she voluntarily opted to move out of his property in July 2015, when he confronted her about her habit of bringing different men to his house.

Wawire has dismissed a purported 'Dowry Agreement' dated August 18, 2012, filed in court as evidence of a strange document to him since, although bearing his name, it does not have his signature.

He has also denied ever siring a child with Milimu, and has dismissed a birth certificate for the alleged daughter as inadequate proof of paternity.

Wawire's allegations against Milimu have been corroborated by a Judicial Service Commission investigation, which found that Milimu had been involved in cult activities.

As a result, Kakamega senior principal magistrate Dolphine Alego recused herself from the case, and it will now be handled by Kakamega chief magistrate Bildad Ochieng.

The hearing is scheduled for November 6.
