Will Smith is back on the big screen in the sci-fi thriller Gemini Man, but he's also making waves online with a guest appearance on The Slow Mo Guys' YouTube channel. In the video, Smith breaks stuff in a parking lot, and we get to see it in slow motion.
Smith is a fan of The Slow Mo Guys, who pull off stunts like opening a condom in a wind tunnel and lighting a million sparklers, then play the footage back in slow motion. In the video, host Gavin Free guides Smith through smashing a watermelon with a baseball bat, shooting a Subaru Outback with a potato gun, and wielding a flamethrower against two mannequins topped with cut-outs of Smith's face at different ages.
Before he batters the fruit, Free asks Smith, “Do you have any pent-up aggression that you’re going to be putting into this melon?” Smith responds, “I’m trying to think of my motivation,” as he works his stance.
However, the actor had more than anger on his mind as he prepared for the stunts. “I just turned 51 last week, so I am mainly thinking of trying to not hurt myself,” said Smith. “Whatever you do, don’t tear a neck muscle on The Slow Mo Guys because you’re going to tear it in slow motion.”
