It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Muthoni Kamotho, a beloved member of our community, who left us on September 20th, 2019, after a brave fight with cancer.
Mary was a loving wife to the late Peter Kamotho Muchai and a devoted mother to Nahashon Muchai, Simon Gacheru, and Edwin Karina. She was also a proud grandmother to Eli Kamotho Muchai. Her family and friends will deeply miss her.
Meetings are scheduled to take place in Raleigh, North Carolina, to celebrate Mary's life and to support her family during this difficult time. On Wednesday, September 25th, and Thursday, September 26th, the community will gather at UBRC church, 124 Luther Road, Raleigh, NC 27610, from 6:30 pm. On Tuesday, September 24th, Friday, September 27th, and Saturday, September 28th, the family will meet at Mary's home, 2414 Jimmy Carter Way, Raleigh, NC, from 6:30 pm. Visitors are welcome to pay their respects at the home during the day.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 29th, at UBRC, with viewing starting at 3:30 pm, followed by the memorial service. A fundraiser will also be held to support the burial expenses in Muranga, Kenya, and to help the orphans, including one who is currently in college.
