Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has arrested two directors of Olympus Computer Garage Limited for allegedly evading taxes worth Sh1.4 billion.

The two directors, George Bhutto Abiga and Bernard Ochieng Okello, are accused of failing to declare taxes on computer gadgets and accessories imported between September 2014 and August 2016.

According to David Yego, the Commissioner of Investigation and Enforcement, the company also failed to file Value Added Tax (VAT) for 2014 and instead filed NIL returns for 2015 and 2016, intentionally avoiding to declare sales of over Sh1 billion.

The two directors are also accused of charging the Railway Development Levy (RDL) without declaring it.

They will be arraigned in court on Friday, October 11, 2019, as per the KRA statement.
