Babu Owino Threatens to Remove IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati ¶

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has threatened to remove IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati if ODM loses the Kibra by-election.
Owino, who has been critical of the IEBC, accused Chebukati of interfering with the election process and giving Jubilee an unfair advantage.
"We have done research and found that our candidate has a 70% chance of winning the election. If the results are not in our favor, we will hold protests to remove Chebukati from office," Owino said.
Owino also accused Chebukati of allowing Jubilee to use government resources to campaign for their candidate, saying that this was unfair and a breach of the electoral code.
"The government has been using its resources to campaign for Jubilee, and we know that they have not been campaigning in other areas. This is a clear case of interference, and we will not stand for it," Owino said.
IEBC officials and ODM leaders met on October 9 to discuss the allegations, but no resolution was reached.
