On October 10, 2019, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i declared October 10 as a public holiday, sparking a wave of memes and humor across social media platforms.

Kenyan University students, in particular, became the subject of online jokes, with many poking fun at their behavior during the recent student unrest at Kenyatta University.

Embakasi Finest, a Twitter user, posted a video of schoolchildren reciting a poem, which he captioned 'KU mnagoma, mnatakaa? #ParteAfterParte after parte, surely Comrades! Yes Bana!'

The #ParteAfterParte joke has its roots in a 2012 homosexuality debate on NBS Uganda, which was later referenced in a song by Ugandan artiste Big Trill.
