Ukweli Party Leader Slams McDonald Mariga ¶
McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee Party's candidate for the Kibra by-election, has been criticized by Boniface Mwangi, the leader of the Ukweli party, over his lack of education.
Speaking on October 9, 2019, Mwangi said that Mariga lacks the qualifications to be employed in any company, including Brookside, for cleaning services.
"Mariga cannot even be given a broom to sweep in Brookside, he lacks the education, such as 8:4:4 certification, if Uhuru Kenyatta feels his candidate can work, then he should employ him in the sports department of K24," Mwangi said.
Mariga has been criticized for his inability to express himself clearly during public speeches, leading to online backlash.
On August 14, 2019, the Kibra constituency was declared vacant following the death of MP Ken Okoth on July 26, 2019.
Mariga is set to face off against 22 other candidates, including Ukweli's Editor Ochieng, in the by-election.
