Baragoi, a region in Kenya, has been plagued by escalating insecurity due to armed bandits from neighboring communities.
On an unknown date in 2019, two people were killed in a fresh bandit attack in Lomelok area, Baragoi, while herding livestock. Three others sustained injuries in the attack.
The victims were taken to the Baragoi health facility for treatment.
According to security authorities, the attack occurred just a few meters away from a GSU Operation Camp in Kambi Nyoka.
Security agencies are currently searching for the raiders and attempting to recover the stolen livestock.
The attack comes days after Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya announced plans to start mobbing out illegal firearms in the area.
Since the start of the attacks, nine people have been killed within a span of two weeks.
