On September 29, a devastating ferry tragedy occurred at the Likoni Channel in Kenya, claiming the lives of Mariam Kighenda and her four-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu.
According to reports, their saloon car slipped off the ferry and sank into the Indian Ocean, resulting in their tragic deaths.
A multi-agency search team has been working tirelessly to locate the vehicle and the bodies of the victims.
Using an echo sounder, an instrument that determines the depth of water and detects objects in the sea, the team has identified four potential locations where the vehicle and bodies could be lying.
On Wednesday, the team mapped these locations and began their search, with divers checking two of the sites, which yielded negative results.
As of Thursday, the team was working to access the other two locations, which were found to be slightly deeper.
