On October 9, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) impounded 444 vehicles, including a Range Rover, over allegations of fraudulent registration claims.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga has dismissed the claims that his Range Rover was among the vehicles seized, stating that he has never owned a Range Rover.
According to a statement from Odinga's spokesperson, Dennis Onyango, the opposition leader has never owned a Range Rover vehicle.
Onyango also accused a local daily of spreading misinformation about Odinga, citing a previous article published on September 16, 2019, which claimed that Odinga had pressed top ODM officials to explain mistakes in the party voters' register that marred Kibra by-election nominations.
Odinga has begun legal action against the newspaper.
