Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele will miss the highly anticipated Clasico against Real Madrid this season after receiving a two-match ban from the Spanish football federation.
The disciplinary committee of the RFEF ruled that Dembele's reaction to referee Mateu Lahoz during Barcelona's 4-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday constituted an 'attitude of contempt or disregard for referees.'
Dembele was sent off near the end of the match for saying 'very bad, very bad' to the referee, which led to his suspension for two matches.
This means Dembele will be unavailable for Barcelona's upcoming La Liga fixtures, including the game against Eibar on October 19 and the highly anticipated Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.
Madrid and Barcelona are currently first and second in the table after eight games.
Additionally, 20-year-old defender Ronald Araujo and Gerard Pique both received one-match bans and will also miss the game against Eibar.
Barcelona has decided to appeal the sanctions imposed by the disciplinary committee to both Ousmane Dembele and Ronald Araujo.
