On Wednesday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) held a meeting with representatives from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party at Anniversary Towers. The meeting, which took place on October 9, 2019, was attended by ODM Leader of Minority John Mbadi and Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
According to Edwin Sifuna, the party had expressed concerns over the upcoming Kibra by-election, specifically regarding the voter register. In a tweet, Sifuna stated that the party had requested a copy of the updated voter register for Kibra, as well as full details of all those registered on transfer since the declaration of the vacancy.
ODM also sought the full updated manual and electronic register of voters to be used in the Kibra Constituency by-election on November 7, 2019. Sifuna reported that the IEBC had agreed to provide the registers and address emerging issues to guarantee fair polls.
ODM is supporting Bernad Okoth Imran for the seat, the brother to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
