On Tuesday, a tragic incident occurred in Nyatike, Migori, where the body of a 15-year-old Class 7 pupil, Noli Awino Odhiambo, was found hanging from a tree near her alleged boyfriend's home.
The incident occurred on October 8, 2019, and the body was discovered by passersby at around 1 pm, who immediately reported the matter to the local administration.
According to Nyatike sub county police commander Stala Too, the student had left her home earlier that day without disclosing her destination.
The police have taken the body to Sori Lakeside Hospital mortuary for further investigation and an autopsy report will determine the cause of death.
While the police suspect that the student may have committed suicide, the investigation is ongoing to confirm the circumstances surrounding her death.
