On October 9, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred on a Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Washington.

A 24-year-old woman, who was traveling for business, reported receiving strange messages on her phone after using the washroom.

The messages, which were sent through Virgin Atlantic's in-flight messaging system, named her seat number and included derogatory comments.

One message read 'welcome to hell,' while another called her a 'tidy babe.'

The woman, who works as a paralegal and specializes in sexual harassment litigation, responded to the messages and informed the senders that she would report them to Virgin Atlantic.

'I was also appalled and disappointed that someone would be so disrespectful and entitled as to send me messages on a flight when I'm traveling on my own just trying to enjoy my flight peacefully and not be harassed by anyone,' she told CNN.

Virgin Atlantic spokesperson confirmed that they were extremely concerned about the incident and were investigating as a matter of urgency.
