Published on October 9, 2019, Tottenham's frustrating start to their campaign has cast doubt over the future of Mauricio Pochettino, with the Argentine boss facing the prospect of leaving his role.
Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League to manage struggling Tottenham, with the Portuguese having been jobless since being sacked at United in December 2018.
Spurs have endured a torrid campaign this season in all competitions and currently sit ninth on the standings with 11 points.
Key squad players contend Pochettino is biding his time until he can quit Spurs, but Mail Online reported Mourinho is interested in replacing the underfire Argentine tactician.
"I have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity and the right opportunity is one that is at the same size and the same level that I am as a manager," Mourinho was quoted saying on Sky Sport.
"I have to wait for the exact right one," he added.
