Urithi Housing Cooperative Society Ltd, a leading housing cooperative in Kenya, has addressed rumors of rebranding. Chairman Samuel Maina stated that the organization has not changed its mode of operation or functions, despite some confusion with its Premier Sacco.

According to Maina, the Premier Sacco, previously known as Urithi Premier Sacco, changed its name to Anchor Premier Sacco on October 4th, 2018, as part of its strategic plan launched in the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM). This change was made to avoid confusion between the two entities, which are often referred to as Urithi Sacco by investors, media, and the general public.

‘To avoid the confusion caused between the two entities, we transformed into Anchor Premier Sacco,’ Maina said.

Urithi Housing Cooperative Society Ltd will continue to provide land and housing solutions, while Urithi Premier Sacco, now known as Anchor Premier Sacco, will continue to provide savings and credit platforms. The two organizations will continue to complement each other and operate independently.

Chairman Maina thanked members for their support and commitment, stating that any attempts to discredit the organizations will not succeed. ‘We promise to continue uplifting the welfare of our members in line with our mission without wavering,’ he said.
