ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has taken aim at Deputy President William Ruto's campaign activities at his official residence in Karen, accusing him of breaking the law.
Speaking at the Amani National Congress offices in Nairobi, Mudavadi said Ruto's frequent visits to the residence were a clear breach of election laws.
‘He should use government resources to ensure Kenyans get value for their taxes. This will help people access good health, education, infrastructure, and other services,' Mudavadi said.
According to Mudavadi, Ruto's actions are a misuse of government resources and a clear disregard for the law.
‘When people come to the house, which belongs to the government, you tell them I have given you food. You are forgetting that you are using their taxes,' Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi also called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to investigate the activities at Ruto's residence following bribery claims.
‘When people in Kibra say ‘huyo ni hoteli’ (he is a hotel), what does that tell you? It means Jubilee is pouring money against IEBC rules,' Mudavadi said.
