On the night of October 8, 2019, a devastating fire swept through Korogocho slums in Nairobi, leaving at least two dozen families without homes.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the fire broke out around 9pm and took more than two hours to be put out.
Area residents reported that by the time the fire brigade contained the blaze, it had already caused extensive destruction.
Three casualties were evacuated to hospital, and the Kenya Red Cross stated that an assessment would be conducted on the following day by their Nairobi teams.
Some of those affected spent the night at the nearby St Claire Primary School, while the cause of the inferno remains unknown.
