Published on October 9, 2019, Ochungulo Family, the hitmakers behind 'Kaa na Mama Yako', have reportedly canceled their highly anticipated collaboration with Khaligraph Jones.
The group's decision to scrap the project was based on their assessment that the song wouldn't be a hit if released.
'Ngoma haikua noma,' Benzema, one of the group members, told Word is.
He further explained, 'We choose something that we feel like is hot. There is no need to give our fans a collabo with big artistes and yet it's not a hot track.'
According to Benzema, even if the collaboration featured a big artist like Chris Brown, they still wouldn't have released it if they didn't feel it was a hot track.
Khaligraph Jones also spoke about the setback, stating that the song's release might be delayed until the right time.
'It was supposed to be released but we've not done that yet. They are doing so well alone, so I don't want to look like I'm getting into their wave,' he said.
He added, 'I wanted it to delay a little bit until the right time. I love their music so much. When the right time comes, we will release or even do another track.'
It's worth noting that Ochungulo Family is currently working on a new project with Sauti Sol.
