Microsoft's Office Mobile application, which was first introduced in mid-2015, is making a comeback, albeit in a limited capacity. The application, which bundles Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, was initially available as a single app, Microsoft Office Mobile.

According to a report by Mary Jo Foley on ZDNet (October 8, 2019), the Office Mobile application has been available for some time and is expected to be pre-installed on the Surface Duo, a dual-screen device recently announced by Microsoft.

Currently, the application is only available on select Samsung devices through the Galaxy Apps store. It is not available on the Google Play Store, and Microsoft has not made any official statements about its availability.

The main purpose of Office Mobile is to simplify the user experience by providing a single application that offers all the functionality of the individual Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps. This is particularly useful for users who want to access multiple productivity tools without having to download separate apps.

As noted by Foley, 'It's designed to be much smaller and more nimble than the individual Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for Android which Microsoft offers in the Google Play Store.'
