On a day when many punters were left disappointed by the English Premier League, one lucky Kenyan shopkeeper, Joseph Karenju, won a staggering Ksh 1.4 million.

According to Daniel Macharia, the lead bookmaker at Odibets, Karenju's winning strategy involved avoiding the EPL altogether and instead betting on winning outcomes of 13 teams from Division 1, League 1, La Liga, and Serie A.

With a stake of just Sh10, Karenju duplicated his 13-team multibet three times, netting a total of Ksh 1.4 million.

When asked about his strategy, Karenju mentioned that he would use the money to boost his wife's boutique business and become self-employed.

Odibets' country marketing manager, Aggrey Sayi, attributed Karenju's success to the platform's variety of leagues, which provides customers with exciting betting opportunities.

“Our customers should use the scroll features and broad categories like countries to strike it big on these matches like Joseph,” Sayi said, while announcing the launch of SUPA5, an exciting new bonus scheme that rewards Odibets customers with more free bets every week.
