Published on October 8, 2019, Barnsley Football Club has fired German tactician Daniel Stendel as manager following a difficult start to their Championship campaign.
Stendel, 45, led the team to automatic promotion to the Championship last season but has struggled to replicate that success this year, with the team going 11 matches without a win.
The club's poor form culminated in a 5-1 thrashing by Preston on October 5, which dropped them to 23rd place in the Championship table.
Alarmed by the dip in form, Barnsley's top brass has now resolved to make changes to their technical bench, appointing Adam Murray as caretaker manager ahead of their crucial home match with Swansea City.
"Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager," the club said in a statement.
Stendel has previously managed Hannover 96 and has worked his way up the ladder before making his managerial debut in English football.
