It has been two weeks since the tragic incident in which Mariam Khagenda and her daughter Amanda lost their lives after their vehicle plunged into the Indian Ocean. The search for the vehicle has been ongoing, but so far, no success has been reported.
According to a leaked message from a diver involved in the search mission, the bodies of the victims may have been swept away by underwater currents if Mariam attempted to get out of the vehicle and opened the car's windows in the process.
UK Forensic Medicine experts have conducted preliminary pathological reports on bodies immersed in water for long periods. Their findings indicate that by the second week, the skin starts wrinkling around the soles and palms, loosening and finally detaching from bones.
Specialists have warned that if the bodies are found, they may be mutilated beyond recognition due to harsh underwater conditions and apparent sea predators. In the worst-case scenario, the search may only result in the retrieval of the car's remains without the victim's bodies.
