Ugandan Sibling Duo Esther and Ezekiel Wins East Africa Got Talent Show

On October 8, 2019, Esther and Ezekiel, a Ugandan sibling duo, made history by winning the East Africa Got Talent Show, beating a rich finalist list to take home the $50,000 grand prize.

The duo's journey to stardom was not without its challenges. They had to battle elder and more experienced contestants from across the region, including The Comedic Dance Group, The Dance Alliance Network, Jehovah Shalom Acapella, and Inteyoberana, a Rwandan cultural dance troupe.

Despite the odds, Esther and Ezekiel persevered, thanks to their talent, hard work, and a fair serving of providence. Their first stage appearance was a baptism by fire, but they improved their self-confidence and learned to combat stage fright, thanks in part to their greatest critic, Judge Gaetano Kagwe.

Esther and Ezekiel's final performance was a surreal rendition of 'When You Believe', a duet by R&B goddesses Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. It was flawless, and the judges and audience were left in awe.

The East Africa Got Talent Show gave all the finalists much-needed exposure and showcased their talents to the world. From the stage, career progression is a realistic ambition, and East Africa awaits season two.
