Arsene Wenger Rejects Premier League Offers Due to Loyalty to Arsenal ¶
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been linked with several Premier League clubs since his departure in 2018, but he has ruled out a return to the English top-flight due to his loyalty to the Gunners.
Wenger, who was Arsenal manager for a remarkable 22 years, has been away from the dugout for nearly two years since stepping down as Gunners coach in the summer of 2018.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wenger revealed that he had received several offers to return to management in the Premier League, but he turned them down due to his strong bond with Arsenal.
"I decided to move out of the Premier League because I am too linked with Arsenal. I had opportunities to work in England but I turned them down. I don't want to tell you [which clubs] because there are people in charge and it would be unfair to them," Wenger said.
Wenger has been appearing as a pundit in renowned football outlets and his match analysis has been highly praised by fans who believe he is one of the few managers who truly have an eye for the game.
During his time with the Gunners, Wenger won three Premier League titles, including one during the 2003/2004 season where he remarkably went on an unbeaten streak with a team which came to be known as The Invincibles.
Wenger also holds a decent record of keeping Arsenal in the top four for 20 consecutive seasons, although times proved hard in his last two years which saw the Gunners constantly feature in the second-tier Europa League.
As far as management is concerned, Wenger has most recently been linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan, who are poised to sack current manager Marco Giampaolo.
