Kenya's Harambee Starlets are set to face off against Ghana's Black Queens in a crucial Olympic qualifier match at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. The match is a return leg, following a barren draw in the first leg two days ago in Accra.
According to Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma, the team is confident of defeating their opponents and proceeding to the fourth round. Ouma praised the team's defense, stating that not conceding a goal away is a significant improvement.
“Our team played very well in Ghana only that we lost a couple of chances. I am very impressed by the defence, it has really improved because not conceding a goal away means a lot,” Ouma explained.
Ouma also emphasized the importance of not conceding at home, urging the team to score more goals in the first half and put pressure on the opponents in the second half.
FKF President, Nick Mwendwa, expressed optimism ahead of the game, stating that Ghana is a strong team but Kenya is ready to give a positive result.
The Black Queens of Ghana arrived in Nairobi early Monday and will go into the game with the objective of winning to inch closer to qualifying for the Olympics next year.
The match kicks off at 4pm.
