Man in Court for Sharing Ex-Lover's Nude Photos on Social Media ¶
On Monday, Omar Seif appeared before senior resident magistrate Martin Rabera, denying all charges related to sharing his ex-lover's nude photos on social media.
Seif, who claimed to be suffering from hernia and awaiting surgery, was released on a Sh100,000 bond. However, he complained that he had missed a scheduled medication session due to his court appearance.
According to Sisters for Justice lobby group executive director Naila Abdhallah, cases of cyberbullying have become rampant, especially targeting women, and often leading to victims committing suicide. Abdhallah noted that many cases go unreported due to fear of the incident going viral or being exposed to close friends and family.
Abdhallah's organization has reported five cases of cyberbullying, mostly affecting women and university students, and urged women to be cautious in their relationships.
