On a fateful Friday, a group of concerned residents from Mshomoroni estate in Kisauni, Mombasa, decided to take matters into their own hands. They had been following a trail of clues that led them to a brothel in Sabasaba, where they suspected a man from their village had been living with a sex worker.

The man, who works for a logistics firm, had abandoned his family of three about three months ago. His wife, a grocery seller at Kongowea market, had been searching for him everywhere, suspecting that he had either remarried or was cohabiting with another woman.

According to Peter Mwamburi, one of the residents who led the group, they had been following the man from his workplace and had discovered his secret life in the brothel. When they confronted him, he initially became tongue-tied, but later claimed that his wife had been denying him his conjugal rights and constantly abusing and beating him.

However, the man's excuse was met with skepticism by Mwamburi and his team. They were shocked to learn that the man had developed a relationship with a sex worker named Stacy, who treated him like a king. When they tried to forcefully take the man back home, Stacy and other sex workers joined the commotion, attacking the group.

Mwamburi sustained facial injuries during the scuffle, but the group eventually gave up and informed the man's wife of his whereabouts. The wife reportedly vowed never to reconcile with her spouse, and the man's parents are now planning to involve the police to get him out of the brothel.
