Manchester United's poor run of form continued on October 6, 2019, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United at St James Park.
Matthew Longstaff scored the winning goal in the second half, with his shot beating David De Gea in the 72nd minute.
Longstaff, who was making his Premier League debut, had a memorable game, and his goal sealed the win for Newcastle.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took responsibility for the loss, saying that he was to blame for his team's poor performance.
"It's my responsibility. I have to take it. The young players lack confidence. They need help from experienced players," Solskjaer said in a post-match interview.
"They are human and want to do well. They want to see the results of their hard work, and that's what affects them," he added.
The loss leaves Manchester United in 13th place with nine points from eight games, and Solskjaer will be under pressure to turn things around.
