Police Officer's Confession Exposes Brutal Murder ¶
On June 23, 2016, a police officer, identified as Ngugi, was tasked by Senior Sergeant Fredrick ole Leliman to follow and report on the movements of a motorcyclist, who was being targeted for murder.
Ngugi's confession revealed that he trailed the motorcyclist to a court hearing, where he was accompanied by another man. After the hearing, Ngugi called Leliman, who informed him that the other man was also a thief.
Ngugi and Leliman then caught up with the motorcyclist and his companion at a railway station, where they were arrested and taken to an Administration Police post.
Ngugi's confession stated that his job was also to dispose of the vehicle that had three occupants, but Leliman cautioned against driving to Meru, citing the danger of using the Zimmerman road.
Instead, Ngugi switched off four of the five phones in the car and threw them away in Lwambera after abandoning the car.
Ngugi returned to Mlolongo at around 5pm and met Leliman, Mwangi, and two other officers in a bar. Leliman informed them that the three victims had been locked at Syokimau AP post and were safe there.
However, when one of the victims managed to make a phone call to his wife about their arrest, the group was shocked and drove to the post to execute the victims.
Ngugi's confession revealed that they argued for about three hours on what to do, with some officers suggesting that they release the victims, but Leliman insisted that they had to kill all of them.
Ngugi's confession also revealed that he was involved in the murder of the motorcyclist and two others, including lawyer Willie Kimani, who were killed and their bodies disposed of in a sack.
Ngugi's confession was made in 2019, and the case is still ongoing.
