This archive report was first published on 7 October 2019.

On January 26, 2019, Mary Wambui's life was brutally cut short in a gruesome murder at Four Ways Junction Estate on the Kiambu-Nairobi Road.

Her husband, Joseph Kori, was initially arrested over her death but was later released and is now expected to testify against his former mistress, Judy Wangui, who is facing murder charges alongside car dealer Michael Mathenge.

Ms Wangui and Mr Mathenge have denied killing Ms Wambui, who suffered nine killer blows to the head, including being hit with a pressure cooker and suffocated.

Mr Mathenge led police to a thicket in Ruiru where Ms Wambui's body was recovered, and Justice Christine Meoli had ordered the two to deposit cash bail of Sh2 million each to secure their release.
