On October 6, 2019, a roadblock accident in Nyamira left a policeman fighting for his life in hospital.
According to Masaba North Deputy County Commissioner Benson Leparimoricho, the officer, George Matundura, was on duty at a roadblock near Masaba sub county hospital along the Keroka-Masimba Highway when a motorbike rider, identified as Jackson Entwapo, 30, failed to stop and allegedly rammed into him.
Entwapo was riding towards Keroka Town with a 40-year-old pillion passenger who was also injured in the incident.
The two were rushed to Tenwek Hospital where they are recuperating, according to Mr Leparimoricho.
"It so happened that the said police officer was on normal traffic check with other police officers at the said area when the motor cyclist who was riding from Masimba heading towards Keroka Town failed to stop and knocked down the police officer," said the Commissioner.
