Published on October 7, 2019, Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has finally put to rest the dating rumors surrounding her and Wizkid.
Speaking in an interview with the beat 99.9 FM, Tiwa Savage explained that she and Wizkid are friends with benefits, citing their collaborations and financial gains as the benefits.
‘We are friends, very good friends. There are few benefits; we do shows together, we do music together, we make money together,’ Tiwa Savage said.
When asked about the rumors that first started making rounds on the internet about a year or two ago, Tiwa acknowledged that she had heard of them but chose not to comment on the issue.
‘I heard all sorts of stories about Wizkid and me, but I chose to ignore them. At a point, people said I was dating Humblesmith; later they mentioned another (artiste),’ she said.
Despite the numerous speculations, Tiwa Savage maintained that she has a thick skin and is not bothered by the rumors.
The two have collaborated on several music projects, including ‘Ma Lo, Bad, Dis Love’ and the steamy music video ‘Fever’.
On the topic of relationships, Tiwa Savage stated that she is not seeing anyone at the moment, citing her busy schedule as the reason.
‘There’s really no reason why I’m single. It’s just, I don’t know, maybe work. I don’t get people sliding in my DM also. They just ask me for school fees or something like that,’ she said.
