Manchester United's poor form continued over the weekend with a shocking 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St James Park on October 6, 2019.
Despite dominating the match, the Red Devils fell to a second-half strike by Matthew Longstaff, who was making his Premier League debut.
Longstaff rounded up David De Gea in the 72nd minute to break the deadlock, with his solitary goal the only difference between the two sides.
Speaking after the match, Solskjaer insisted he would shoulder the blame for his side's woeful display, revealing his young players lacked confidence.
"It's my responsibility. I need to sort their heads out. Young boys lacking confidence – they need some help from experienced players and staff," he said.
"They're human and they want to do well. They need to see the results of their hard work and we're not getting those results so that's going to affect them," he further submitted.
